Throughout history, black dye has been the most difficult shade to achieve with natural means. Black dyes would wash out or discolour, and processes to create a longer-lasting black would often corrode the fabric.
For our Jämtland sweatshirt, our yarn producer in Italy has perfected a wool dyeing process that uses herbs and dye from the blackwood tree. This process foregoes fossil-fuel derived chemicals and their associated toxic waste, and produces a rich, shade of black with longevity.
As always, this garment is made in Sweden from 100% Swedish wool. Free from synthetic chemicals and plastic fibres.
